I have a bit of a problem with Capture NX2 on my iMac. I installed the trial version when it was released, and hadn't purchased the upgrade since I was told Nikon Canada would not be selling it (which turned out to be untrue, but that's getting off topic...).
Anyways, when the trial version expired, I tried to uninstall it, but Nikon's uninstaller wouldn't work, so without thinking, I just dragged the NX2 folder to the trash can. Now that I have a D700, I need to use NX2, so I tried installing the 60-day trial from the CD that came with the camera, but the installer keeps crashing as soon as I click "continue" to start the installation.
My guess is that this might be because I had previously installed the trial version, but the way it crashes instead of telling me the program is already installed, or the trial has expired, etc., I'm worried that it might be a more serious problem. I don't want to purchase a full copy of NX2 only to discover it won't install on my machine... any thoughts?
Have you tried getting a copy of the NX2 Uninstall utility/application (it's about 700K) and running it? Assuming it runs standalone, it should remove any windows-like files that have been squirreled away.

Neither the NX or NX2 Uninstall programs run on my machine - they both crash.
Mr. McFadden helped me out with some slightly more forceful uninstall software...
I had to zap NX, and it took some hidden NX2 files with it. Now I have the expired NX2 trial software installed again, so I can just purchase an upgrade key and get on with things...
