p.3 #1 · Add FX to DX system or not worth the effort?
Heck, I'm convinced that a good deal of the good-natured anti-Nikon joshing I got from some of my Canon-using friends at Oshkosh was tinged slightly green with envy. The weight, heft, and functionality of my 200-400 f/4 on the D300 made several 300/2.8, 500/4, and 600/4 shooters look downright wistful.
There's an exception to every rule, though. Jim Wilson was there with 300/2.8, 500/4, 600/4, and 800/4 primes attached to 1d3 and 1ds3 bodies. Lifted, hefted, and carried around all the primes all week, too. Of course, Jim will have the best images of anyone not because of the gear, but because he's one of the two best aviation photographers on the planet. But still, even weight and cost can be overcome if you care enough!
