#1 Love it! So sharp, so green. The tiny slug is a nice touch too.

#2 For a theme of color, it's rather colorless. Doesn't do much for me. Kind of noisy.

#3 Meh, doesn't do much either. Not an interesting subject.

1. If you look at the leaf, upper third of the image, to the left of center, you'll see noise in the broad green area. The image would be improved by the PS Reduce Noise filter. There are possibly dedicated noise reduction utilities that may do a better job, but in this case the PS filter would be a significant improvement.

2. I re-calibrated my monitor, but the face of the cat remains tinted blue. Given his pose, did you intend a blue tint to suggest he's feeling blue?

3. I like the rough orange surface, but the glare detracts from the saturation. Could you have tried a polarizing filter? Also a tighter crop that didn't retain the original frame proportions might be more appealing.

You are posting too large to fit on my screen and it makes it hard to critique the composition.

1 is very nice - nice colors, interest, focus depth - nice job (when I scroll through it)

2 has some bluish cast and noise and lots of fringing color noise. It looks like it was unscucessfully converted to b/w. Is it just my monitor? I am on vacation with a borrowed monitor so maybe its me. But too much distortion and noise for my likeing.

3 has nice colors. The water is a bit dark behind. I would try croping some left to see if it improves but it hard to tell with this size. Post a bit smaller. Maybe too much saturation?

FWIW, I'm using an NEC MultiSync 2690WUXi monitor freshly calibrated with an X-rite and SpectraView II and I also see a bluish cast and color fringing on the second image. (It's why I was curious whether wingcommander intended the addition of some color to the image he offered with the theme "gray".) Naturally, if there is something wrong with my monitor I'd like to know. Although it was expensive and difficult to find in New Zealand, I have been very happy with it.

Thanks to all for comments.

YES the nose is purple- it is a color image- maybe someone can explain why this happens. I should have fixed that in postprocessing.

(camera was D40, the cat is 1/1000, 1600 ISO, 200 mm).

If I post again I will reduce more.
