Since there was an absence of the more "glamorous" birds (e.g. Peregrine Falcon, Reddish Egret...), we decided to focus (no puns intended ) on other birds that usually don't get as much attention.
Lil has picked the winner IMO too, that is a wonderful low angle shot! I also like the elegance of #4 and if it just would have given a glimpse of the eye that would have iced it. Not sure but contrast looks a bit harsh in some? A wonderful mix of lovely shore birds
You might think me strange, and that would be perfectly acceptable, but I like the willet in the wind shot the most. Something quite appealing in that one. Well done on will rounded selection on the rest as well. Taken out at BC?

Hi Karl,
Thank you for commenting. Actually I was practically laying on the dry mud when I took that shot and used my left palm as a makeshift tripod.

Great mix of shorebirds. I would have to go with the others the willet in the wind. I love willets and that is not the typical shot of one.

Hi Tim,
Appreciate your comment. I think the Willet is the first shorebird I ever learned to ID, and is quite common in Southern California.

We don't think you're strange, Mr. Zoom. The moment I saw that composition in the viewfinder, I knew it would be different. Thank you for noticing.
Yes, all those pics were taken at BC. Hope to see you down here some time.

The 2 Willets are my favorite shot, I really like the ground level view.
