! It was a Vivitar telephoto shade out of a junk bin that I hacked at until it juststopped vignetting. I was going to paint it, but I like the rough look.

I am guessing he was referring to Samuli Vahonen's second to last image, it took a double take for me to notice that the aperture blades were the focus point.
