This annual event is part of the International Cycling Classic (Superweek) series of races held in Illinois and Wisconsin throughout July. For professional and top-category regional riders, these races promise competitive racing and large prize purses. A few shots from the day's races below. Taking a flyer from the front of the group. 3). It's nice to see the townsfolk come out to watch the local racing. 4). 15-laps into the race. Still fresh. 5). 6). Ojos! Justin Williams of Rock Racing keeps his focus on the front coming around turn 5. 7). 8). 9). The Pro/1/2 pack strung-out at 30mph. 10). 11). The Evanston Grand Prix home straight. I shot the first in the series, here in New England, for Cox Charties the PRO's race around 5PM so the light was good and they were facing the sun as they crossed the finish.
