Steve Spencer Offline Image Upload: On p.1 #3 · #303: Neptune's Trident Hi Jim, What curious growth on this old cedar. I love the composition, but I do wish the sky weren't blown out. I didn't see the B & W version, but I can see why you went that direction. If Endre wouldn't have already said that he liked this version better I would have suggested a B & W conversion. The native Americans sometimes bent them over to mark trails. As they grow, the side branches become trunks growing perpendicular to the bent truck. I over worked the original post, and I was working on a laptop the last 8 days...so I wasn't happy with it when I saw it on my desktop calibrated LCD. Here it is... I still like the general idea, but it needs much more work for me to get what I want. I'm sure i will revisit this, and shoot it again. Though it distorted the tree itself very little - you can see the horizon is curved quite a bit.
