I just realized its been awhile since I commented on one of these....I find myself relating to the father in this image a great deal. I am not a father myself, but my girlfriend has a 2 year old daughter that I have grown very fond of and she projects the same joy on her face when I make her "fly". In fact I toss her up until my arms ache because its just so cute when she says "again" after I catch her. I also find myself looking toward the future and hoping that one day I can enjoy all of the feelings that come with being a father myself. So this image has really elicited some happy and hopeful feelings quite effectively.

Hi Paul.
Thanks for participating in ANY of the impressions discussions.
And your impression here has touched me.
I don't have any children (yet), so I empathize completely. I also share those happy and "hopeful" feelings.
I could really see the enjoyment (joy) the father had at the moment when he was doing the lifting and I have to say it was a special moment of that bond and that love being so open. And it was fun. I do remember my own father lifting me the same way when I was a tiny tot.
I hope to see you in some of the other Impressions threads too.
My impression is that the father reached up into a painting and plucked the jovial cherub out of the canvas to be his own! I have a little one that gives me the same smile. I only hope he does that one he is 17.
Wow! I went back through all your previous impressions photos and you do an amazing job of capturing expressive eyes. While you have plenty of US participants, I will add mine from Houston. I suspect thsi is the same father and child in Impressions 37 and 24. This one is the best, by far, IMO. I also love B&W/sepia because color doesn't detract from the content.
This is a classic dad/son moment of shared fun and bonding, so pure and clean. The boy's eyes are lit with humor and hint of future mischief.
I have two boys, now 10 and 14. This specifically reminded me of the expressions on my youngest when he was that age.

Howdy....
That was a very nice impression. Thanks for sharing that with me/us.
"Plucked a cherub" is something fun and imaginative. It brought a smile to my face.

Howdy Gordon!
(For the Forum: I picked up saying "howdy" when I lived in Austin Texas for several years. It was one of the nice friendly things about Texans/Texas and has stuck with me for years. )
I am glad you enjoyed this photo and the others you viewed too. Thanks for the compliment.
I know what you mean about that "mischief" in the boy's eyes. I saw it in the father's eyes too...so he takes after his dad.
I hope you will "pull up a chair" and join in any Impressions discussion (past or present or future).
