After hearing brainiac and several others tout the OM 40/2 for so long I finally got a copy and I have to agree, it's near perfect:
OM2n | 40/2 | E100VS

Very good color and contrast wide-open.
Damn dude, that looks excellent. Now I want one too!
You seem to be getting pretty damn good scans too.. home job or lab scan?
Lab scans. I'm actually not happy with the slide scans because they are such low resolution. My camera store just sold their scanner to some person in Vietnam, so I am left with getting good scans at the color negative developer and bad scans at the slide developer, I'm not sure what to do at the moment. I need to get a cool scan.

Thanks. I was just looking at your Flickr site (great stuff). Sasser Georgia!? My dad is from Ocilla...
Cool, I went to Albany, GA for a training class and ran into that fire on the way there from Atlanta.

Makten, get on Flickr, so I can follow your work better. I really enjoy the first shot.
Thanks! I enjoy yours too. Flickr... I was about to get an account a while ago, but I never did for some reason. I'll have a look again.
That 40/2 seems to be even better than the Ultron, but I guess it's hard to compare film with digital. The grain adds some percieved sharpness. I'd say the Ultron often gives smoother bokeh, but it vignettes more wide open.

I'll probably pick up the ultron before long. Keep in mind most lenses vignette far less on film than on digital since film doesn't discriminate based on the angle of light.
