I still feel we're pinning our hopes on a rumour!
True enough, but since none of us work for Nikon (with an exception or two who are not talking) what else are we good for? (At least as far as this is concerned.)
I don't know if this will be released shortly or not, but it sure is fun thinking about it!

if you really wanna talk about announcements to release dates, look at the new Camero, I have been waiting for it since 05', lol
Oh, that one's easy. You mispelled it. That's why you missed it!
I love talking about it. Speculation, guessing, wishing. The higher the expectation, the hard the fall though if the vapourware doesn't solidify into an actual announcement. Hope people don't go down this track too much.
Do you think we will hear about this releases tonight since Japan is ahead a half day? I remember hearing about the D300/D3 at 1 AM EST the night before.
This is like some ancient tribe pounding on the drums and dancing a wild dance around the fire, drinking potent elixers, all night long ... All to feed the crazy fire of NAS!!

Still nothing. The web advertisement is obviously complete and utter speculation. A wild guess. I suppose it helps them jump the competition to get pre-orders.

I'm currently sitting in my office in Meguro, Tokyo... checked with the nikon webbie (Jap) and a few of the major distributors here... no word.
I remember that Nikon was used to first launch products in coutries starting with a "F", to celebrate the famous F mount.
not sure if this still applies.
OK countless people still use this term. You need to know it is offensive in nature. You just don't call African American the n word. These words are meant to address the different races in a bad manner. And because I am Asian, with a Japanese gf, let me also say that "orientals" is not the right way to describe people of Asian descent. Btw, JP is the correct abbreviation.

Well, no D700 yet...
Interesting thing Tuannie, that "Asian" means basically people of east and southeast easian descent in north america, whereas in UK it means people of south asian descent. If you want to be correct, call yourself "east asian" or somesuch (remember we are on a worldwide forum ).
