I was wondeing if anyone has any sample shots from this lens both wide and closed down? I know that the lens has been deemed soft, but I don't need the sharpest lens in the world, and I want to see if it's a softness that I can work through (sharpen).
Hmm, now that I look at the full-sized (or close to it) pics above, they look kind of gross, especially with the ACR-induced patchiness to them. Prints and web size pics look fine imo. Here's a web-sized 28/1.8 pic, wide open:
Now that I look at it, I don't like the look of the stopped down 28/1.8 images. I tend to shoot it close to open, and it seems sharper (in the field of acceptable focus, I guess that's circular) then than when at f/16 or f/22.
