p.1 #1 · Results from monitor "calibration"

I had some monitor calibration issues...here's a before...

here's the after-calibration results...In addition to monitor adjustment I converted the image from RGB to sRGB, which I'm told is better for the web...

I would like to know how THIS image variation looks...please comment...thanx...
(as for the quality of the image...it's a 100% crop of a shot taken with a 135/2.8 MF Nikkor on my 30D)

It does look better to me (more brownish and warm) but be warned:

1) Many reviewers will not have a calibrated monitor and therefore if they don't say its calibrated you cannot entirely trust their input (mine is)
2) srgb is the best to post it with but mac's typically show lighter and pc's darker ( mine is mac)
3) some browsers (explorer) is not color calibrated (safari that I use is).

I think that the color balance looks much better but I am not fond of the all white background. I would change it to some other less distracting background.

Note that on a wide gamut monitor even Safari will show different colors to Firefox 3 (which is also color aware) for images on the web which do not have an embedded profile (more than there should be).

For this reason I do not find I can sensibly view Miranda with anything other than Firefox 3

I prefer the second version - but unless you shoot something where the colors are known - it's hard to be sure which is correct.

Thanks for the input...I look at many monitors, at home and at school, (I have both an CRT and an LCE at home) so I know how varied they can be...but I'd been told that my images were washed out and "noisy" and I think THOSE issues are taken care of now...as for color...well, neutral is fine...(I'll play with the background)...
