p.1 #1 · Christening photos for critique

Some time ago I posted here about a problem with some Sandisk CF cards that occured during a christening event I was shooting.

I posted ten of the photos on my blog.

There were 10 christenings in the same time, the church was incredibly crowded and moving aroung was almost impossible. Add to that the use of prime lenses, mixed low light and you have the "best" shooting conditions

So, what's your thoughts on the images?

I think you did a great job!! High ISO shooting has never been my thing, but you seemed to handle it very nicely.

@Keith: Thanks, I usually shoot without flash, in bad lighting conditions, so ISO 800-1600 is quite normal to me.

@RedWhiteandRed: I'm not really getting your point. Which part of the photos is the "heartbreaking ritual abuse"?

If you mean the water thing, well, that is how it's done here. I'm also not too much in favor of that (I have two kids myself), but on the other hand it's not that bad (the water is heated so the child does not get cold).

You asked for thoughts on the image. Sounds like impressions to me. I like how the kids are give a chance to choose myself... oh wait...

Just pulling your strings adimage. You did well with the low light. The parents must have been very happy with the images. It's a solemn ceremony, but also a joyous one, and I think you did well capturing the atmosphere, the emotion, and the event.
