This is my first post in the b&w forum and my 2nd ever of any photography forum.
Just a few photos from the beautiful Santa Fe 3751 steam locomotive that made a historic run from Los Angeles to San Diego on June 1st. These types of trains don't run very often and it was a rare and wonderful site. And oh, those incredible sounds!
In processing the photos of the wheel details I used Photoshop CS3 to "oversharpen" the image, add tons of contrast, then add noise for a grainy look. Overdone on purpose to create more of an art piece than a photograph. It's probably a matter of taste and I know some won't like it - just experimenting.
clue: lots of images in one message get very few comments. if you split them into more days, you'll get more and deeper comments/suggestion.

I like that artful look, particularly on this type of shot. Very well done!
