p.1 #1 · need your advice on these two images (homeless man in vancouver)

two images I took of a local man near my house... I really want to get a strong image out of this, but I'm getting so-so results with the FM B&W plugin. I'd really like to bring out the wrinkles and show off the harshness of the street life, but the plugin keeps making the face softer than I want. Do you pros have any ideas?

For the colour I'd really like to make his eyes pop. I don't want to make him look brutal, but I want a striking image, not a photo of a crazy-looking homeless person.

okay, here is what I've done. Still not thrilled with it, but it definitely looks better:

so where would you gents recommend going from here?

i'm gonna give the lomo process a whirl now.
