Man - what a scammer - just read his bio - man... that dude is fully of himself! Did he write that as someone else, or did someone else really write that... anyways... yes, some of the links on that page do not work anymore.
The dude is certainly a scammer... man, the police need to be all over this dude.
If you have resolved this was that you were insistent - otherwise, he would have just said, "ha, ha - sucker"
No professional would do this to any of his/her customers! The guy should not be trusted and people may as well take their money elsewhere......Show more →
Spoken like a four year old. No professional would be as silly as to say "otherwise, he would have just said, "ha, ha - sucker" let alone half the other stuff.
There was a problem that is hopefully resolved. If not let's hope appropriate bodies can take it from there. Let's stick to that without sinking into just being nasty.

The appropiate bodies were informed last year by many disappointed customers, including an Ombudsman (who also got ignored by Ryan), . If this was a one off situation I would not even bother to post. He could be a nice chap & his photography may be highly rated but as a businessman he is well below an acceptable level.
Check out some of the professional forums and you will see the evidence.

After all the threads I have seen on DWF, there is no way I would consider sending him money. Hell, even Jeff Caplan tried to arbitrate and got ignored. Guy just takes the money and doesn't think he has any obligation to deliver anything.
at WPPI, I was amazed he was even applauded, talk about a joke of a businessman. And people say, ah well, he is a great photog. Not true, his father is a great photog, ryan just happens to know photoshop pretty well.
Anyone thinking of ordering his PS DVD's, this thread is what happens every single time lol...

He is a great photographer, His work demonstrates that not to mention his accolades.
I would be livid if it were me but let's not go silly and try to take him down now for other things. Keep to the facts. Let's try to show some form.

Okay, maybe saying he is not a great photog is a little baseless. I realize he is the youngest master photographer in AU, and winner of countless WPPI accolades, but I think his real strong suit is his PS skills. He could probably 'rescue' one of my mess-up shots and score over 80 with it, haha.

I hope my kids never act like that. I hope my talent and success gets my kids ahead in life but I hope they take it run it to a higher level and it just keeps getting better.

He was no doubt fortunate to have someone to guide him like his father. I trust that is what you meant. His own work took him from there of course.
A quality of work that most who have responded to this thread will probably never reach.
That is a different subject to the business practice originaly raised and on that level only a small man could not respect him for his acheivements.
We have a few of those don't we?

Martin Schembri. The man who bought the YSI software to the market. Really nice chap and an awesome photographer.
Martin is also one of the showcase wedding photographers on the PhotoVision Wedding Techniques DVD set (series 1). His work is excellent with great ideas I'm sure Ryan is using in his DVD. I believe in that series Ryan is actually assisting Martin.

Ryan is going on a tour in Europe this summer. After I have read this, I changed my mind - I am not going to attend. What I expect from a teacher is more than great skills.

For someone in his position and with his supposed notable reputation these sorts of business practices are totally unacceptable!
The least you could do is return peoples emails and maintain lines of communication with your fellow photographers and peers who will ultimately judge you more intensely than any bride or groom will.
The seminar ' product and teaching circuits for many of these "Big gun photographers" are obviously taking precedence to shooting weddings it seems due to the money involved $$$
