p.1 #1 · # 293 Mountebank

This is an old metal child's savings bank. The"Magician Bank" would work by the child putting the coin to be saved on the little round part of the magician's table. By pulling a lever, the magician would cover the coin with his hat. Simultaneously, the little trap would open and the coin would slide down the red chute at the back of the table, into the magician's leg's and then into the coin storage. Releasing the lever would raise the magician's arms and "Voila!" - the coin would have disappeared! I don't know it this is exactly "retro' or not but it certainly is cute.

Thanks so much, Bev, my dear friend! AT least I didn't have to go far afiedl to find something sufficiently "retro" for this WA.

Fond regards,

Endre

Just like today's banks. They have ways and means of making your money disappear through outrageous fees and charges.

Colourful and interesting take on the WA.

Thanks, Bill. I'm so glad you like it. Why do you think I titled it "Mountebank"?

All the best,

Endre

Hello Endre,
Beautiful lighting and lovely colors make this a fine entry. The detail is so nice and sharp, I like how the grain of the cast iron shows so so much texture. Well done!

Gee, Steve, that's disappointing! I had hoped to amaze you every now and then. Just kidding... I assume you meant "cease" rather than "seem" Glad you like it!

All best wishes,

Endre

Sorry about that buddy. "Cease" is exactly what I was saying. But then you knew that already. My bad.
