ok guys I went back the day after I took my original "Stump" photo. I had some better lighting(not what I wanted but close enough to make me happy) my tripod
Last time most people were not very pleased with the large spot of empty sky it had, so I tried another angle. Please let me know if its better, or if it has gotten worse lol
And for those that didn't see my first version, here that is https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/639320
Also I did play for awhile in PS to make this shot. This is actually 4 different photos each with a different focal point. Starting with the close roots and pebbles working my way up the stump and then a final shot for the background trees. Then merged them together in PS. I spent maybe 1-2 hours in PS.
Anyway thanks for all your previous comments, and I look forward to any CC if people are willing
essentially the same problem—light featureless sky and dark subject. your edit should focus on reversing those elements. interesting composition. best...skip
when I drag down the image on your screen, so I crop out the sky just above the stump, I see some very bland tones. composition is interesting, but needs more contrast to give it some life.
