p.1 #1 · #292: Clean, Sustainable Energy

As Earth Day/Arbor Day/Earth Week concluded, I was struck by this scene in Illinois where clean wind energy was in evidence in a harvested field of corn, a major source of cleaner fuel. C & C welcome.--Frank

Nice shot and colors.

If there's any chance of reshoot I would use ND filters and shoot lower shutter speed (on tripod of course). Something less than 1/10s should give those windmill blades some motion, making the image more dynamic.

I agree with Leon. But, it's also a nice shot this way.

Love the windmills! I especially appreciate you're deliberate thought about the ethanol corn fields, very controversial these days! Great shot, good luck this week.

Thanks, Norm. This is near the junction of I-39 and I-88,south of Rockford, IL. There are about 100 of these wind turbines in the area. Good luck to you, as well.--Frank

Leon--I had to drive about 90 minutes to get there, so I didn't go back; but thanks for the constructive suggestions.--Frank

Thanks, Dan. I thought the scene was appropriate for earth week and in light of oil prices approaching $120 a barrel.--Frank

Hi Frank,

Lovely shot. Both the foreground and the sky are terrific and set off the windmill well. Good luck this week.
