p.1 #1 · maybe trying a scrim?

ok, I am just getting into doing some e-shoots, weddings, senior pics and was looking at getting a scrim for sunlight to use for location shots . Does anyone have any suggestions? I've seen black, white, lavender, etc.. and don't know what do choose. How do I set it up outdoors? Muchos gracias!

Go with white and choose the fabric density (1-3 stops) depending on how bright it is during the day where you are. Plan to spend as much on grips and securing gear as the frame itself. Those things can become a sail very easily.

Handheld light diffusers are available as well. $30 on eBay for a 5-in-1 reflector (including a diffuser). I use the diffuser with decent (IMO) results:
