p.1 #1 · Critique of HDR Image: Tree Beard

My first feeble attempt at HDR... very new to the entire process, so any hints would be great. Image's were taken at -2 E +2 hand held and combined into HDR via Photoshop CS3. Colors edited a bit in lightroom.

p.1 #2 · Critique of HDR Image: Tree Beard

I've never managed to make good HDR pictures, but I don't really see
the point here. The dynamic range of the scene I would not expect to be
too large here so that you had to use an HDR approach. Maybe you want
to find higher-contrast scenes, eg. including the sky. In this pic, a bit more
contrast would be nice; it's a bit dull as it is. Anyway, keep trying!

p.1 #3 · Critique of HDR Image: Tree Beard

I agree with MarcR that this is not a picture that needs HDR unless it is in bright sunlight.

I have had good luck with HDR but:
- Use a tripod because because if there is a shift in perspective it will cause softness
- Generally it works better if the objects are still - ie trees with wind will look soft

For me this picture is confusing - i don't know what it is and what the main subject is and it looks soft. This could be because of low fstop or not using tripod.
