I took this last summer with my E-300 and my new 50mm macro lens. I liked the contrast of the soft, beautiful butterfly against the roughness of the rocks. Any comments, suggestions or criticisms would be appreciated.
Great shot! but I would like to have seen the whole butterfly in the frame. It also appears that the focus point is on the left wing about 1/3 up (which did turn out really sharp though) and not on the head/body. I agree with you that colors are really good.

I agree with Ken - the whole body and more depth or focus on body would make it better. I think framing to the right (to move butterfly to the left side of frame) and having more on right and bottom would be a better composition - so that it does not seem so centred.
I agree with Ken and Scott, except that I have another cropping idea: What abot cropping the left side to just to the left of the "tail" (sorry, dont know the terminology) of the butterfly, playing on a squarer crop and diagonals?
