Really sad the left foot misses a bit

The little kids were given the opportunity to admire the ballet shoes.
No way to prevent the flash from flaring like hell, but I actually like it.

The young talent gives it a go!

1 - I like the lines and think it is good but would be better if:
white balance seems too yellow
i would try to remove the mirrored image on the ends with lassoe and average blur - it is distracting
it would be better if you did not frame through the instructor
I think because of the mirror you would be better to frame such that there is no mirror - through one of the ballerinas

2 the better of the pictures for me for the distraction reasons mentioned above. I would still paint the reflections much darker to demphasise and get the full foot in front. Still looks a bit yellowish to me.

3 does not work for me because you are framing through girl foreheasd and too much glare. Try without the flash and iso 1600 and your fastest lens.

4 for me the child is too small in the picture. You could crop off most of the right and top side. It would be better with his face not obscured. As is the surroundings do not complement the main subject.

White balance can be adjusted, have to take care though...it is fluorescent mixed with flash. Gets to blue fast.

Mirror is gone now, can't do anything about the instructor, there is no more of her.

Much improved with the reflections diminished.

The white balance now seems too blue - i have tried it and posted.

A difficult place to shoot with all those mirrors and reflective surfaces.

What are you doing with your flash. Have you tried to use a diffuser in front of flash.

When I pick the WB of the instructors clothes it turns out the same as yours. No problem with that.

There were actually three light sources in there.
- a window behind me
- fluorescents overhead
- my flash at half power facing towards me on the right

My thought is that different colors of light are no problem as long as the faces (if they are visible) look acceptable. In this case it should work.

As for using a diffuser... all the walls are black in that room
The only thing that could work is a fluorescent gel on the flash. Unfortunately they are not available anymore in my sweet country (Netherlands).

Bye the way...

nr. 4 can be cropped, but the noise in the boy is so incredible (the flash was blocked by poeple) that the picture probably won't be of much use.
