maggie Love the first two Northern Shovelers >> Every time I come across these guys their little heads are down in the water and I rarely get a descent shot with their heads up. The female on the log is fantastic... Speed demon is great too
good to see ya again ms Bee...that topside Canada Goose is so darrn sweet, just like the lady shoveler......get busy shootin' more, quit that other busy stuff, you have duties here.
Excellent series Maggie! Not only are they great from a tecnical standpoint, you've cpatured some great poses which make them stand out even more. It's hard to pick a single favorite, but 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 and 8 go to the top of the list!

Ah Maggie, welcome back! I have been wondering about you. I realize life can get in the way of photos, it is just nice to have you back. Having just spent this evening trying to get some better shoveler shots I am humbled. These are all great. I thought 8 was great, nice color and all until the saw 9, it looks as if he is checking his fly! All great shots.

Thanks, Tim. I appreciate your very nice comments. Where do you typically shoot? I thought one of your backgrounds looked familiar a while back - like Golden Gardens maybe?. I was there a few weeks ago and saw a bunch of Shovelers, Widgeons, a few Gadwalls, and some great looking Brant Geese on the beach. Still haven't had time to process. One of these days...
Great series, Maggie. The Shovelers are quite special --- the way you've caught them, seems like they have "personality"! But my fave is the Canadian Goose. Love the bg, full spread --- and the water droplets from its right leg...

Maggie, I shoot a lot at Golden Gardens, it is only about a mile from my house so I go there often. Discovery Park and Montlake Fill are favorites haunts also. If you see me please come over and talk. I'll be holding a bushhawk and a camo'd 400. I hope to see you someday.
