I ordered one for my D300 about two weeks ago and it came in today. While I ordered the N8 version (10-pin Nikon) and the box was labled as the N8 version, it had the N6 version (D70/D80) inside! I wrote HKS and e-mail and am waiting for an answere. They seem to have an excellent rating on E-Bay and their policy is to please. Even the best vendors make mistakes sometimes. I'll keep you all posted on how this turns out.
Good luck. There have been several threads on DPReview and the consensus seems to be that their customer service is barely mediocre at best, and a right pain in the butt at worst.
I just got the N8 Cleon in the mail for my D300 and after reading all the problem threads, am very happy that it seems to work exactly as expected with none of the quirky problems that others experienced. It is a pretty cool device.

Andre,
I had the exact same experience. Since I also own a D80 I did as you.
But I can not get the N6 to work with my D80 ... did you do anything special with your D70 to get the N6 working (change settings on camera ?)
Cheers,

No, the N6 is designed to work with the D70s. I'm not sure what the connector on the D80 is like, but I think it has the same ports as the D70s. Make sure the batteries are in, the channels are identical and you have the right switch settings.
