I'm an Industrial Design manager for a small mom and pop organization (GE) specializing in consumer products, and have recently purchased a D300 after years of neglecting my photographic intrests in lieu of design. I hope to turn the equasion around the closer I get to retirement as an advocation.
You gave me the opening, so I'm gonna walk right through it. Here
are a few of my alter egos. There's Ruben Pondwater, Yehudah Manne and
Rory Stankafew, just to name several. I am a contributing editor to
UFO Sentinel Magazine and can often be found behind a rock envying
Todd's telescope.
I think I am the new youngest person to post at a mere 20yrs and 355 days.
I am studying Aerospace engineering in Bristol UK. I make my home in a quaint village in Devon. As well as photography I enjoy Rugby, loads of other sports which I am rubbish at, chess and art.
I'm the mug on the right, and on the left is my twin brother.
My granddaughter and I, getting silly. My interest in photography is guided by my need to express beauty and spend more time outside and traveling with my wife. Add a bit of technology and I'm set!
Yikes, looks like I'm the baby here. Junior in high school, planning on majoring in photography and graphic design in college. I love shooting pretty much everything, especially landscapes.
This really is a cool idea, Ute, thank you for starting it!
My dad originally sparked my interest in photography, but it wasn't until I went digital 4 years ago that I really started becoming more serious about learning. As a dentist in Charlotte, North Carolina, I document virtually all of my work with digital photography, so I am behind the camera probably as much as most pros, but not many people want to look at the pictures I take at work.
Last year I started getting hooked on L glass and learning Photoshop, and I'm now a confessed addict of both. About the only thing holding me back from profligate purchases of more lenses is my very sensible wife.
My brother-in-law was the one who turned me on to FM -- I wonder if that's why my wife doesn't speak to him anymore Hmmmmmmmm....... Just kidding, but between FM and my favorite dental forum, I really need to get off the computer more.
This is fun!
I'm constantly amazed at how wrong I am about everyone's ages.
That said, here is a triptych I made for my Dad, taken on two different trips to Red's Meadow, near the Devil's Postpile, in the High Sierra. The B&W (I'm the young one)was taken about 50 (!!!) years ago. The colors (my son is the young one) in 1987! The distinguished gentleman in all three is Dad!
Quite a bit of PS work went into rehabilitating these, so I'm proud to share them.
Oh, I'm in sales, and only in the last two years has photography really taken hold. I've been very blessed to meet and shoot with some wonderful people from the FM family!!

Here's one for Todd (tgrando): Eat your heart out!!
Taken by my good friend Martin. It was cold, blustery and lightly raining a perfect Scottish mist for us this day!
I'll take my turn. I'm an attorney living and working in the northern suburbs of Chicago. I've been interested in photography all of my adult life but really found satisfaction in digital photography and post processing. I'm lucky in that I'm able to take 2 to 3 day photo journeys to some of the prettiest places in the US. As I tell people, I get two sunsets and 2 sunrises. The desert southwest and the California coast are my favorites.
I'm an attorney living in Florida and I'm 29 years old. Landscape photography has turned into a passion/addiction that grew out of my love for the wilderness.
I'm an IT support tech for a wee security company (Look at the mug...), 27 years old, married with a two year old son and another one on the way. I don't have nearly enough time for photography, a hobby that consumes just about all my spare time and cash (+20%). Oh, and I live in Denmark, the country that currently holds the world record for highest taxes - and photo equipment is roughly twice US prices.
Photographer, digital imaging artist, retoucher, color workflow consultant, Photoshop trainer, drinker of fine Reds. Had the MTV show Jackass happened ten years earlier, I may have found my true calling ...
