Other than being a tad soft I do like this a lot. Have you sharpened this at all?
I was in Kyoto in 1995. This really captures the feel of the city, probably across many centuries. Excellent work.
I have one suggestion - I would crop out the left a bit, between the round red lantern on the far left but leave in the kanji sign to the right of that. The red lantern on the extreme left is too distracting and it looks better without it - even though you will lose the aspect ratio which is nice as is.
A cinematic 16x9 crop looks pretty cool too - try that. It cuts out all the overhead distraction and moves the image nicely from very dark on the left into the women.
It captures the feeling well. Although I agree with Scott on the softness and cropping. Given that it is not able to be duplicated, I think it needs the color of the paper lantern to balance it.
Very well done. Most of my opinions align with the posts so far.
Love the colors...
A little sharpening would help...
Cropping can be a matter of taste here. I like the lantern, I'd leave it in.
The one distracting element to me is the person(?) behind the lady on the left. The brightness of the clothing keeps her head from standing out. Either reduce the luminescence of the person (burn) or remove all together.
