Here is one from last week; a co-worker of mine is having his regular smoke break.
I used the in- camera B&W settings (B&W with sepia #1) and processed in Nikon Capture NX. Framed in Photoshop.

Technical:
Nikon D3 with 85mm F/1.4 lens at F/2.8
ISO 800

Yeah that would have been cool to see some smoke, But during the photo he was inhaling so there was no smoke.

Good! That is what I was sort of going for, an old western look that looked rugged. Thanks for the reply.

This is a great photo!

Just as a side note observation though... Had this been an image of a young beautiful woman with the cigarette, instead of a burly looking guy in need of a manicure, I'm willing to bet that you would have had a lot more personal interjections of opinion.

I guess double standards don't apply when an image is this well done.

Yes you are right about that. A beautiful looking woman would have been great for this photo. Unfortunately none work here. Oh well.... Thanks for your comments.
