When I attempt to open up a medium to large amount of files at the same time through bridge it wont and give me the following error:
"windows can not access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate program to access."
This doesn't happen when i open a small amount of files, just large amounts...
Well, since you can place any file in Bridge ... is it possible that when you go to open a large number of files that you are picking up something that is not a .jpg or .cr2. That is some other file type that just happens to be undefined.
Another thought ... opening a large number of file can take a lot of resources. Are you sure that your system is up to it. Perhaps it is just failing on the large number of files.
Sounds like opening a smaller number of files would help you meet your deadline faster. I typically open 40-55 files at a time without a problem. What kind of numbers are you talking about? Define your "small," "medium" and "large."
I've just noticed the same thing. Last night I tried to open about 50 images and it gave me the same error. No problems with 20 images, though. I don't know the problem either.
Thank you all for your input.
I ended up meeting my deadline but had to open 10 or fewer images at a time.
I am only opening raw files.
Anything more than around 10 images i still get this error.
It is quite frustrating.
I may need to uninstall and put a fresh install in. But im trying to avoid this.
Does anyone know a solution?
Thanks!
i was having the same problem today after fixing the raw converter issue with bridge. i turned the computer off for an hour out of frustration, turned it back on to try it some more and new updates available appeared. i installed them and that fixed the problem. i was only able to open 12 at a time. anything more, i got an error.
