Shot this yesterday of my wife who is running for County Supervisor. Whe wanted some more shots for her webpage. I shot it in auto/portrait mode with my D200 then had to sharpen it. Interested in looking at it posted online. Any thoughts on the shot are welcome.

I'm not sure what a County Supervisor does, but if it's not hunting down people/animals with a bow, why is she in her archery garb? Or maybe it's for her "about me" page, if so then maybe go to the range and set up her bow in the background, with her arrows/quiver in her hands, then she can show her interest in the sport without worrying people.

I wouldn't crop the stabilizer and pullies out if this is her favorite picture.

I won't comment on the editorial aspects since you know those best... but her face looks quite soft on my monitor. I'd definitely look for another shot where the eyes are tack sharp, especially if you're looking for a picture that allows her to make some connection to the viewer.

Thanks for the comments. This shot is for the 'about me' part of the webpage as was guessed. We are going round and round with what should be on the webpage. Her manager was worried she might look to 'butch' holding a bow. It is a very conservative area that she would be representing. Outdoor sports are not a negative, even though she shoots indoors.

The shot is sharp- I think I messed it up in PP. I was wondering if it would hold up resizing it for the web. I will rework it and some others and let her decide on what she and her 'people' want on there.

Skin tones have been affected by over-exposure - may only be in the processing. Back to PS I think

Tuesday we are headed to the indoor range for the shot MGrenkow suggested. It will be a blend of this shot and one of her shooting I took last year. I'll post the work.

I would have to agree with others, nothing in this shot is sharp. For the pose, try to get her away from the background so that her shadow doesn't cast itself on the background. Also, rather than posing with her bow, it might be better to have two photos of her, one where she's actually shooting so that you can capture her form and concentration, and one other, more formal and flattering for her.
