Too bad we need fencing over highways to keep idiots from chucking stuff onto oncoming traffic. But good for you, as this shot is great. I love the coloring, DoF and framing.
Wonderful image, Karen! I drove under one of these while driving around scouting for a sidewalk and thought about going up there, but it was way too much effort at the location I had in mind. Glad someone wasn't as lazy as me! Kudos!!! This would have been a strong entrance shot, too.
Love the shot. I especially like the repetition in the fence, albeit somewhat disorderly. Makes me wonder who constructed it and why it is so mishapen. Great job and good luck.
I thank each of you for taking the time to stop by, view and comment. It was a lot of fun to take the shot. I have never taken the time to stand above a highway of this size and not only see but feel the vibration and wind from the cars passing below.
The top of this catwalk is designed to look like the mountain tops beyond. When you are driving down the highway you see the catwalk and the mountains beyond and at one point the top lines are the same.
I have always liked driving under it each week on my way to the airport. I am glad I am able to share it with each of you. I have attached one of my reject shots of the walk from the side.
This is such an extraordinary picture; it looks so futuristic with its own irregular shape that is really fascinating!
Great capture Karen, congratulations!
The blue sky with those lovely clouds give the outside of the cage such an uplifting feel. This is contrasted by the wet-ish, brown, wintery and gloomy tones of the bridge and ground -- the inside. The tension between the two really makes the picture for me. Then you have the curious and strongly angled fence bits poking into the sky like lances or so. Just great. And to top it all off it's us all sitting inside this long cage and looking up.
Wow Karen, your pictures are great, the first one is very good, I like the second shot the best, I know that you can't see the walkway in the second shot but I realy like it. As to the kids chucking stones at cars and trucks now they use lazer pens. Good Luck this week very well done.
