it has a very dark mood with a yellow cast and very little detail outside of the water.
I am not sure I would hang it on my wall but it certainly has an emotional impact.
I looked through your pictures in your line and when seen in the slide show it certainly fits in and makes a nice collage with a emotionally punchy set of images.
I've seen a number of your images around here and on your site, and you certainly have a very unique style (from what I've seen around here in my short stay). This one fits well in your lineup.
I've also noticed that you seem to be a bit of a gear junkie and you have quite a collection of cameras, particularly film. So do you actually develop the rolls and then scan them in? Seems like a lot of work (but for a great cause).
Yes, I am a self-confessed gear junkie. The expenditure is stratospheric...lol.
C'est la vie!
Here is a link to a few film cameras, I shoot also digital and have a "few" digital
cameras as well as large format. Ok, if you want to see real gear fanatics (I say
that obviously w/ a sense of appreciation check the link to my Pbase buddies that
I dedicated this gallery to - André Bessot from Switzerland and Colin Clarke from
Australia).
Yes, I do process film and the scan it with a Nikon Super Coolscan 9000 ED Film
Scanner. Sometimes if I am on a rush I head down to a local professional lab in
SF and have them develop the film. A 120 mm roll comes to about $5.00 and a
220 mm about $10.00. Its cheap!
I hope you don't get the impression that I detest digital. I don't! I love it all.
No, I certainly don't get the impression that you detest digital. And while I like mechanical toys (cameras included), I don't have a bias against film or digital when it comes to photography. Afterall, they both serve one purpose and its the resulting image that matters.
BTW, thanks to linking to your friends. After seeing their camera collections I'm struggling to say who of you three has it the worst Ok, I confess, if I had the time & money I'd be up there with you guys
I think the term is actually "gear slut." hehheh I've been lurking for a couple months and just registered and wouldn't ya know it, my first post is probably mildly inappropriate. Yeah, I'm one of those too, even though I know it's not the gear that makes the photographer. And though I've taken some great shots with a point and shoot, there are times when I've had to change settings quickly to get something and then fired off 5 in a second (my D200) and the keeper was frame number 3. Only familiarity and good gear can make that happen. I'll post one of those shots in the Critique forum in a bit (hopefully tonight after dinner). Cheers...
