Got stuck in the city overnight. This shot was taken at 11:30 PM (I never adjusted the clock on the camera for DST!). It never fails to amaze me how many people are on the streets of NYC late at night. Even parents with their kids.

One thing that struck me was the couples walking and holding hands. Turns out to be harder to capture that than I thought :-)

Comments and critique welcome...

Neat picture, but to count check the rules and re-size this. Good luck.

I like the shot, but what happend in the bottom left? Looks like a lot of bad clone stamping?

oh wow. Now that I'm back at home, on my calibrated monitor... that's embarassing. Yes, I ATTEMPTED to clone out a manhole cover.

Is it OK to edit? I.e. once submitted, can I make a change?

Hi Glenn,

Good capture of the couple in the foreground and I like the older couple to the right as well. I like the contrast between them. Certainly fix the cloning, but it should be a very nice shot. Good luck this week.

I changed the pic (resized and did a better job cloning) - and uploaded to the same filename. The URL for the pic hasn't changed - however the pic above is still the original one. :-( How can I make it "see" that the original is updated?

Thanks

This is a problem I've had with the forum for awhile. I've found that the best way is to edit the main post first, and choose to remove the photo. Submit the change and then make sure the picture is gone--get back to the main WA page and then link back to your thread. After you the know the photo is gone, edit the main post again and this time choose to change the photo to the new one. If that doesn't work, try again. And make sure you rename the photo or the original image may return.

Good luck,
Chad

I uploaded the file with a new name, and linked to the new one.

Oddly, resizing changed the film grain appearance for the worse :-(

Oh well, thanks all for your help.

Actually, I think the grain adds to the quality of this photo. It has a romantic, old photo feeling.

A great capture,
Chad

Thanks, Chad. Actually I used a Photoshop filter to add the grain, it was the look I wanted.... however, in resizing. the grain looks "different". Oh well, still a nice effect...

Thanks
