I have been ask to take photos of a group of young figure skaters.
They is about 25 sub-groups and they all want a different backgroup related to their theme (Movies, Disney, Cartoon, Different Country traditions, ...).
Are there any good reputation digital backdrop dvd on the market ?
I would also like to have a digital backdrop DVD with the equivalent of scenic winter scenes....not really pictures but artistic painting...
You don't want to do this kind of effects work for free. You multiply your back-end workflow by a factor of five at least with background paste-ins, and they are horribly tedious. If you are contemplating such visual effects, make sure you bill appropriate multipliers of your hourly shoot or post production rate.
My limited experience with digital backdrops, particularly with large groups, they rarely look convincing no matter how well you handle your "bluescreen" or "greenscreen" backdrops on site. "Person separation" software plugins are OK, but still imperfect. Getting the backgrounds in cleanly is hard enough to do, but getting the resulting work to look convincing is very very difficult.
