Last Sunday, as I was fishing from my house-boat, a Great Egret decided to join me. I've never seen one getting so close! I even had to take the 1,4 TC off of my 500mm., and even then I was still to close. Usually as soon as I open the door to go out they immediately fly away. As a matter of fact this is the first time I was able to shoot birds from my dock.
C&C welcome.

Socrate, wonderful! I felt the wing coming through the monitor on 3. 1 is gorgeous, they all wonderful. Yeah you cut some parts off here and there so they are not perfect. I wish I had such problems. Love the colors on the water and the reflection in the first grebe shot. Very cute. Did it swallow the crayfish whole?

Thanks, Tim. The Grebe shot was taken just before sunset. The river, as you can see, is full of junk and I was lucky to be able to get some reflections in some shots.

P.S. I forgot to tell you about the crawfish. The Grebe ran away with the crawfish in its mouth, and went behind some grass. I never had the chance to see him/her eating the fish.
Socrate, these are excellent, excellent, excellent. The exposure and processing on the egret are perfect -- great detail! And that first grebe pictures is just wonderful. You really delivered the goods with this series, thanks for posting these.
Excellent shots Socrate! Good to know that the birds are starting to like you and you're finally able to take the Tc away from the 500mm My Tc has been living on the body since the day I bought it
I like #5 #8 and #9 the most!
Too bad you didn' get any fish though. I went out today too and was planning on posting something, but after seeing your shots i'm having 2nd thoughts
