p.1 #1 · Contax 645 lens on eos

Howdy all. Could someone tell me if it is possible to mount a Contax 645 lens to a Canon body? In particular I'm interested in this lens, Apo-Makro-Planar T* 120mm f/4.0.
If it is possible do any of you have experience with this lens?
I like the idea of using a medium format 1:1 macro lens with the 1dsmk3 and a shift adapter.
Thanks,
Dan

Will the 120 Contax resolve enough for the 1dsmk3? It seems to have very good mtf.

Check out www.getdpi.com Medium Format section. Son shows pics from Hassy 110 on a 5D - look bloody fine to me.

Also check fotodiox - they sell a number of MF-to-EOS adapters.

Thanks for the replies. Will the 120 makro stop down manually or does it need a special adapter? I'm not interested in autofocus functions.
Thanks,
Dan

the aperture on the c645 lenses is electronically controlled, so you need electronics to close the aperture.

Bummer, I was hoping it wasn't an electronic shutter. Are there any 120mmish medium format 1:1 macro lenses that are manual aperture and have similar image quality to the 120 contax 645?
Thanks,
Dan

I think there are quite a few of great 135 macro lenses. Unless you have already own a 120 system, there is no point going through the hassles. Just my 2 cents.

My goal was to be able to mount a medium format macro lens with a zoerk adapter so that I could stitch macro shots. My main concern is the resolving power of some medium format glass when coupled to a 1dsmk3.

Will it be a shift adapter? That would be a big plus when using medium format, otherwise I don't see the advantage of using MF.
