Does the bracket lay flat for storage?
Thanks,
Mike

Yes, it will flatten out quite nicely. I really like it.

Thanks Mike .. do you find enough room for your hand between the camera & bracket?

I've not had one in my hands but from the look of the photos on Joes website the bracket is on the same side as your hand, and you fit your hand between the camera body & the bracket?

Mike, As your right hand only holds the camera body and fires the shutter, you will plenty of room. I leave mine on all 3 bodies, just put the flash and diffuser on when required.

Yes .. I've had a closer look at the photos and it seems the bracket is also slightly forward of the camera as well, so lots of room.
Thanks

How about shooting in portrait? Do you have to wrap your hand around the bracket?

From the look of the photos on the Demb website your hand goes in between the bracket and the camera body.

Also the bracket appears to be slightly offset (toward the front) and that gives your hand some additional room.

This page shows (me) doing verticals with both a regular shutter release and an optional shutter release on a Nikon F2.

Nick, Shooting vertical is just the same as without the bracket, as you go from view to vertical you just turn the flash head, see photo or film here:

p.1 #10 · Demb flash bracket question

Just returned from shooting a wedding in the Newport Aquarium. As I've said before, I'm no fan of flash brackets. But, there are times when they can be quite useful. For this wedding, I took my Demb bracket (newer model) out for it's maiden voyage. I found it very easy and intuative to use. I was able to hold my camera as I normally do, which makes it very easy and convenient to make camera or lens adjustments. With other brackets, it seemed that I was always somewhat at the mercy of the bracket design, and having to work around it. With the Demb bracket, I never found it to be inhibitive of my shooting style. I also like how well it's designed and built. It's quite compact and easy to store when not in use.

Anyone had any problems with the constant tension bolt loosening?
