Fantastic BG and beautiful light, Gene.
8 and 9 superb!
How close were you? I am always curious as to how much you crop (or don't)
Thanks,
Too close. Most are full frame or near full frame. With the field mouse e.g., is full frame but the juming for it is cropped some for composittion since I was too close and didn't get the whole animal in the view. I fianlly took my TC off, then of course couldn't get near them
Beleive it or not I used my car as a blind. I drove sown some paths to place myslef in their path, once in a depression so I got below eye level shots from my jeep

Wow! Amazing! Thanks. I am getting better at getting closer---but we do not seem to have great places here in Washington where you can use the car as a blind very often. Lots of steep dropoff to the water and too many fir trees!
Thanks, Gene!
These are absolutely stunning and gorgeous!!!!! Damn you have captured a beautiful animal doing what it does to survive in the most impressive way. Way to go.
Stunning as as usual..... Well actually even more than usual
How did you get this close.......... Every time I've seen one of these guys all it takes is ONE MOVEMENT and they shoot off in the other direction like a canon !! GONE !!
Beautiful light, fantastic detail, fun action, love the eyes and the texture of the fur, super BGs --
And I know the frustration of having a TC on and being too tight when the action starts.... argh....
Terrific set!!!!!
