A photo of my daughter, Eva, enjoying her favorite Ice cream flavor - Mint Chocolate Chip! The color version is my entry this week over at the WA forum.
i like it a lot. I actually like it better than the color version. It reminds me of somethings annie leibovitz did. I actually met here last night at the opening of her exhibit at the Legions of Honor museum in SF. She is very nice. I felt kind of out of place though, because only the big donaters and big-wigs were invited, and i was just a kid who tagged along. Ok sorry you probably didnt want to hear that.
Thnks so much, Lazlo, my friend! It is always wonderful hearing from you and, as always, i'm delighted when you like one of my shots in B & W, considering that (in my book at least) you are the acknowledged master.
Speaking of B & W, I had an occasion to do a photo portrait shoot of about 71 kids in a school as a fundraiser. I did them all in a very tight facial crop and converted them into B & W. The parents all went nuts for them and every one got bought - raising over $3500. Not bad, eh?
I hope all is well with you.
All best wishes,
Endre

Good one Endre, her eyes are so beautiful.
Lucky to have such a great model
That sounds very interesting. I'm happy to be compared to Annie Leibovitz. She's been photographing for a lot longer than I have! I'm glad you like my shot!
All the best,
Endre

Very nicely lit and shot! This is a wonderful shot, with some great tones. Your daughter has wonderful eyes. I haven't seen the color version, but I can't imagine it looking nicer then this! One small detail for you to consider, the light reflecting in her right eye, there is a like a small light with a smaller rectangle below the main light source in her eye. I think I might clone that out, so there is a single light source being reflected... Maybe too picky, but this is such an incredible shot!
Thanks, Jim for all your kind coments and the good suggestion. I'll have to look into how I would clone out that little light in her eye. Since this was shot in natural light you're alctually talking about cloning out a part of an entire doorway so to make it look right might be problematic. Someday, I'll be able to afford some lighting gear.
All best wishes,
Endre
