Umm, I've heard of this happening inside people's LCD monitors before... not quite the same I know, but the important advice was:
Don't try to kill them!
If you do, you just just now have *dead* bugs in your lens (or monitor) which isn't really much better.
The suggestion I'd heard was to put the item in a light-sealed box or room (nice and dark) with a light-source like a torch (flashlight for americans) or lamp to attract the bugs...
good luck
I agree with this post. Your goal is not to kill them in the lens or camera but to compel them to leave on their own.

Can we see a picture of the bugs in the lenses? That was my first thought
No sorry! They're THAT small. In fact, even smaller than particles of dust!

You're extremely right Josh. I'll do this on the first phase, try to take out as many as possible. Then on the next I'll freeze them for 2 days, and repeat step 1 with the flashlight to attract them to light.
Step 3, repeat step 2 again freezing them, and flashlight again. I'll do this as many times as I can until I get the nest out. If this doesn't work, I'm sending it back to Canon. And the funny thing is, the storage room where they're kept is always super clean. These things must've come from the seller I'm guessing...What a pain...

so canon's L lens is weather sealed but not sealed against bugs?
I asked myself the SAME question. What pisses me off more is that I spent $1,600 for that big white heavy lens (awesome pics though) and now these stupid bastards wont get out.
I sealed all my gear yesterday in a plastic bag with no air, put neftaline (don't know if that's how you say it, but they're white round balls that take out humidity and kill insects, and dont hurt plastic), and put it all in there. The lenses left open, the cameras closed, i'm getting these suckers good!
And if I can't, I'm just going to get rid of all the gear and buy it all over again. I'm not having insects in my cameras...never did..never will...
I'm really hoping someone from canon comes by and tells me how to find a solution for this. I'm calling Canon in Rome monday and will tell you guys what they tell me.
My poor babies...If I can't solve anything I think it's time to upgrade to primes and MK III's....
