The big issue with this picture is the cropping and the environment.
There is WAY too much dead space above her, and the "elegant pennsive" look doesn't fit the industrial lobby look of the waiting room. If you had shot this image next to a pillar in a roman garden, it would have looked really nice.
Perhaps you could have upped the power on the flash and let background disappear more.
I disagree - its just the finishing in PS that has let it down
Crop the top slightly and using selection and curves lift the bride and the lights in the background separately
It just needs more punch
Interesting......i intentionally shot it this way to show off the angular windows which lead the eye to the subject..........and hiding the door at the end of the hallway which read "Ladies room"...................lol..............
Had i simply "centered" her in the frame,it would have just looked like an ordinary shot........boring............
I do have multiple captures with different looks........
I'm sorry... but I really don't like it. Cropped her dress at the bottom isn't appealing, nor the wall of windows or the tilt. I'd have shot her from the angle of having myself pressed against the wall... gone full length or a tighter 3/4... used my off-camera flash to spotlight her so that the bathroom door in the back ground (from this angle) would just be darkness.
If light would permit, you could try another shot in this setting... have her stand at the end of the hall just like she is, and shoot down the hall, against the wall, at a large aperture... everything becomes nice and oozy and the windows would add depth as the eyes focus on her in the distance.
Hope that made sense!
Also, she's a beautiful girl... I'd rather have her look me in my lens than at the carpet.
I have pics of her looking into the camera........ the reason she is not at the end of the hallway is because there are ugly doors there with Mens and Womens bathroom signs on them..........so standing at the end of the hallway was NOT an option......
