Trench

Where are these taken?? The first one is nice. I saw the Sandhills about a month ago along the Sacramento river delta.

The white crowned sparrow is nice too...

Hey Vivek! This was at the Bernardo Wildlife Refuge about 40mi North of
Bosque del Apache on a day fit for ducks.

Wow, that meadow lark looks like a bigshot on that branch. Perfect representation of its natural environment. I am figuring all those Sandhills are waving to you, as you may know some by name by now! Must be elegant to watch them in flight, have enjoyed your shots of them. Awfully plump sparrow, sitting pretty, nice shot Will.

Thanks much, Karl. Yeah, I'm sure some of them intentionally veer off and mock the 'monkey.
Might have something to do with Roger using me as bait?

Hey Ray, I'm likin' it so far...still in the tweaking stages but think it'll git 'er done.
Put a QR plate on the base of the pistol grip for extended shooting w/monopod and
that's turned out to be a blessing... especially using the 1D's.

These pickins aren't that slim. You have a great shot of one my springtime favorites, white crowned sparrow. The meadowlark is lovely. Nice work.

Will, I have been enjoying your Sandhills very much, but I have to tell you that #7 is one of my favorite shots, so far. The Silhouette of the Sandhills against the backlighting is downright artistic. I really like this shot.

Glad to hear that you are liking that BH. Mine is still in the box waiting for the MkIII and a 400/5.6 to arrive (still bummed that I missed out on your 400, but I always seem to "Just miss" the good ones). I love the tip about attaching the monopod (I wouldn't have thought of that). Also, nice crop on that meadow lark. He just looks right at home there!

Thanks, Tim...I'm petty spoiled re: BIF opps but the little guys kept me out there
for the eventual sunset.

Will, Great set! I don't think they will be around much longer. I saw a couple flocks of geese heading north this morning. Let me know how you like the BH - I hope Roger gave you some good tips; I swear by mine. Steve W

Hey Steve! Thanks, yeah I'm thinkin' we've got a week or so to still enjoy some good #'s and
may try Unit 3 out one more time. More cranes than geese at Bernardo but
only the "landscapes" have been consistent.
