It's a beautiful shot Graeme. I like everything about it except the one snowflake that is closest to the camera in the middle of his jacket...
That particular one is kinda large is pretty noticable. I find that my eye keeps going right to it.
I like this shot too! Sometimes that angle can be overdone, but this is a case where it complements the shot.
I agree about the snowflake, and I'd even go as far as to say clone out all three snowflakes that are making a triangle from his right shoulder to his left arm to the BIG one on his side. The more I look at the image, the more I see that triangle.
Cool shot...are those real snowflakes or photoshop? I don't mind the blurry ones cause it helps give depth...if anything i would clone out the little blue part of his shirt sticking out from the bottom of his jacket but thats so minor that nobody would even notice anyway.

I like the cool blue tone and the angle too.

They actually ARE photoshopped in! Good eye. And that was my theory too, that they would give it depth and people would accept the bigger ones because of the lower opacity and realistic look. It also gives a more romantic feeling than the original did. I really like the big ones, but I think I'm going to move that big one in his jacket over to his sleeve. Less obtrusive.
I like the shot with the snow in it, but the couple knew it was not snowing I wouldn't give it to them .. they would have to explain the shot to everyone who looks at it.
But that's a very good snow "job" .. I've shot a lot in snow and you convinced me.

thanks! I've shot in snow a lot too, so I knew what it looked like on "film."
It's just higher opacity soft white brush for the little ones, and then the bigger you go with the brush the lower you make your opacity.
love both shots...the snow looks very natural! I just did an entire e-shoot in a heavy 'sugar snow'....pics were awesome, couple was floored! so different than most e-shoots and i expect good orders off them!
Nice Job man, would have totally tricked me. I like the shot too, not an 'omg extreme 45 degree tilt' shot like you see sometimes, this is nice and subtle. I think cooling it off a little plays into the whole 'cold winter' thing. All in all i like the shot and the processing!
