Im not sure if these are landscape photos but anyways... I chose 3 best landscapes I took during last year. Any ideas on what should I concentrate more? Any critique is really welcome. Thanks!
First one has amazing colors!
Second one doesn't really do anything for me..
Third one..It's alright, but it could be better, it would be cool if he was the only one standing there, and looking at the sunset with no one in front of him.
They definitely count as landscape photos! I'm very partial to the third one, but I don't like the fellow on the right. He's too overwhelming. I'd crop it to square, but it's your call
The first one has very nice colors and tonality. It's hard to make a judgement call on just three photos, but I'd say pay some attention to irregular cropping in post production. There's no reason the photo has to stay the same aspect ratio or even orientation as it came out of the camera.
You're photos are very dynamic and heavily weighted, that doesn't always work best in in the traditional 35mm aspect. Don't be afraid to try 4x5 crops, square, or whatever the subject demands.
I personally could see all three images as square. Cheers!
1 very nice - horizon is at 1/3 which is good. The color is nice and the boat adds very nice interest. You might fix the vignetting in photoshop. Very nice picture
2 for me needs some more elements to make it interesting. It lacks pizazz for me. it is nicely framed.
3 - Really like. nice colors and nice emotion. It would be better if the people were doing something more obvious (skating, skiiing etc) as is they seem to be randomly looking and acting.
I like them all, perhaps #2 above the others -but I'd like to see if the trees and left side could show a little more detail - too much dark space for me --- after looking at it in LR I agree with your pp'ing which changes my preference to #3 followed by #1...perhaps #1 is a bit over-saturated (and I'm inclined to do that myself all of the time) .
In #3 I'm curious about the long diagonal path and where it leads?
