Hi folks, Managed to get out for a day a couple of weeks ago with a friend in Florida and got some Snail Kite images. The Snail Kite is North Americas most endangered raptor species. I feel lucky to have seen and shot this magnificent bird.
Terrific images Dave. I was in FL for a week and only saw one snail kite---didn't even know it until I got back to the hotel and looked at the images of the distant 'harrier' I shot at 1600 iso waaaaay into dusk.
These are great, well done. I was traveling across alligator alley on Monday and saw 3 of these. I will definitely have to go out and try to shoot them soon. well not "shoot" shoot if you know what I mean!
Great images Dave!!! Josh and I are planning a trip around Florida in early April and this bird is at the top of the list. If you don't mind me asking, where did you find this stunning model?
Awesome captures Dave! Great work on the dive, hard shot to get. I just got back from Florida myself, the weather is a little nicer than it is in Wisconsin!
These are just tremendous shots. The day I can take photos like these, especially the dive, I shall be able to die a happy man! I could look at these over and over again - in fact I have
Excellent set Dave. That's a beauty of a male Snail Kite. They truly are magnificent raptors. While they are all terrific images, my vote goes for #5. Dunno why I like it better than #4 which is also spectacular, it just really clicks with me. Well done!
