p.1 #1 · DA Kine Sequence vs. Burton Zoom

I'm looking for a new pack and was wondering if anyone had any experience w/ either of these packs. if the sequence had a laptop compartment, i'd be all over it.

Any suggestions on other packs similar?

No experience, but I'm interested in one of these as well. Something that I could actually take my camera up boarding with.

I use the sequence.
I've had a 54 set up in it and a full dslr set up in it.
I've also had a 54 and one lens dslr set up in it.

All above for landscape work including hiking up mountains and also used with dslr set up on the slopes (skiing for me though!).

Two things about this bag make it the one for me:

1.It opens from the back meaning the back never gets wet which is great when hiking, skiing, etc. (and it feels secure that way.

and

2. the axe slot works perfectly for my tripod...i've never found a bag with a good tripod holder that stays in place, etc, etc and this just works perfectly.

And I like the safe space for the camera gear and enough space for other things.

Hope that helps.

could you guys post some links to these bags so the rest of us can see what you are talking about? Bags are a continuum of desire and frustration so if you are on to something then we all would love to know about it. Thanks much for your help

http://dakine.com/sport-packs/photo/sequence/

I have used a dakine in the past, made it through 3 seasons and the zipper failed,( diod not open and dump anything just frayed open) bag was beat to shi# and dakine still replaced it no charge! Now it is not the bag to take if you plan to shot weddings or carry more than 2 flashes or a few lens but for day sessions its sick. If you plan to lug all your gear around look into a lowpro bag as it will give you more room. Just not good on the lift. Hope this helps.

I have a dakine sequence also and i love it! works great for outdoor activity's and the camera block is removable giving you the option to use the camera block or the backpack separate from each other. It could fit a laptop if you have a small one. something with a 15" or less screen and is decently thin.

I have had the 07' 29L Burton, 07' Dakine Sequence, and the 08' Burton 28L zoom pack. All three are really good bags, but the 08' Burton has been the best so far. The 28L and the 29L are some what similar, but Burton has updated the materials, and the shoulder strap design. The 28L has slightly more interior room then the Dakine, more pockets for better organization, over all bag size is smaller, and the Burton has a non padded pocket for a laptop. I'll try and post pictures of all three when I get home from work..

You should ask in the general gear talk. Thats where a lot of people hang out to talk about bags.
