On the same day as watching the reddish egret hunt, I got to see this smaller scale encounter between a Wilsons Plover and a Fiddler Crab. Just as intriguing, but not quite as spectacular. the Plover dropped the crab twice and it almost escaped, but in the end the Plover managed to remove the claw and the match was over.
#7 and #10 are the most fun and I probably shouldn't have posted the complete series, but ah well. (Actually the complete series is 32 images!)
