The Imperial Valley, located in southeastern California between the Salton Sea and the U.S.-Mexico border, attracts many birds to its well irrigated agricultural fields. It is still early for the burrowing owls, I only spotted one individual, and cattle egrets gathered in congregations but their breeding plumage is in the very early stages. I saw sandhill cranes flying in formation but haven't seen any landed in the valley, I'm going to see if I can track down their roosting spot if there is one. Wind and dust storms yesterday made shooting a challenge.
Wonderful shots, Laura. Your photos consistently have a lot of vitality to them and a feeling of 3D. How do you do it? Love the DOF on all three. Fantastic poses too.
