p.1 #1 · New macbook glossy display - saturation etc?
Anybody using the new macbook with the glossy screen?
How does the display work out for photo editing? It seems some LCD displays are designed to give high-saturation and are pretty rough for regular photo editing. My work LCD is like this and images I've edited on my calibrated CRT look like horrible cartoons on it.

I've discovered that even the low end macbook does dual monitor desktop spanning, so I can do any serious photo work on a calibrated CRT. I think it will work out.

I use a new Macbook pro and the screen is great. it's a matte screen, the glossy screen is not designed for photo editing - it's made for viewing. The reviews for the LED screens are stellar in everyway. Don't simply write off LED screens as being the problem - just don't use the glossy screen for "real" photo editing which it is not made for. The glossy screens are made for high contrast and high saturation: screen popping larger than life effect, e.g. itunes, iphoto, Youtube, and Apple TV users. You can try to post a thread to see if anyone has tried to profile the glossy screens.
