Great series! It looks like you handled the conditions and light very well. 6,8,9,11 & 15 are my favorites. I like the additional work you did on 14 - nice detail. Steve W

HI Ted
I am going to say that pic#16 could have been the best of the bunch had there been a certain 'cardinal' sitting on your shoulder! Ha
This looks like a very tough outing to come away with a winner. Maybe more of learning experience on what you like for compostions, formations, floaters etc for the next outing.
Seems these birds lack the 'eye' of attention like that of other birds. What I mean is that you are not drawn to the eye as a focal point like a hawk or eagle. So I guess one would concentrate on the whole bird, texture of feathers, unique patterns or combos of birds
That yellow marking by the eye has some neat interest, maybe you will get lucky to get some close ups of the head. And by any chance the sun shines for you I am sure you will put together a very nice series to show. You sure seem to be harmonizing with that new lens and TC, very nice Ted. Maybe some low shots across the water with low flight birds is in store next time out.
Just keep having fun, I am enjoying your results tremendously............
Karl a great critique. I most always try to focus on the eyes wether it be human or animal. You certainly have given me something to think about the next time I go out. Thanks for the suggestions.
Ted - I think you found a great spot for swans. Love the pictures so much that I hope I can take a quick trip out in the next few weeks so if you have some tips for the location please let me know.

Steve........thank you........you be the man..........
Ted - Please give us a full report when you back from this weekend and if you see a hotel close by the reserve could you note it for me? I am sorry I will miss you this weekend, but based upon your photos I can't wait to go the weekend of the 22nd.

Nice job, Ted. From your comments, it's obvious you've discovered the challenges of shooting white birds and know how to correct it next time. Pretty swans, except the last one - must be a mutant.
